Lawrence W. Bud Doresey, Jr., 56, of Blair, passed away on Dec. 31, 2012 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Sundar officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Bud Doresey was born on Feb. 8, 1956 in Midwest City to Lawrence William, Sr. and Mary Pauline (Castro) Doresey. He attended Altus High School and graduated in 1974. He attended the University of Oklahoma and later earned his Associates Degree from Western Oklahoma State College. Bud married Deborah Moore in Altus on Dec. 24, 1976. He was self employed as a cable lineman, setting up satellite and television cable for DirecTV. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, skiing, swimming, sailboats, reading books, and spending time with his grandkids and family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Pauline Doresey; and his father, Lawrence William Bill Doresey, Sr..
Survivors include his wife, Deborah, of the home; three daughters, Cindy, Dianna and Ashley Doresey, all of Altus; a son, Lawrence William Doresey, III and his wife Cassi of Norfolk, Va.; seven grandchildren, Xavier, Ronnie, Jayden, Isaiah, Colby, Natalie and Tanzy; his mother, Mary Doresey of Blair; six sisters, Donna Shannon and husband Randy of Petrolia, Texas, Peggy Smiley and husband Bill of Chico, Texas, Linda McElroy of Lewisville, Texas, Sharon Kuykendall of Mount Holly, N.C., Major Ruth Adams of Jersey City, N.J., and Gail Adams of Wellington, N.C.; and a brother, George Adams, of Wellington, N.C.
The family will receive friends at 6 p.m., and host a rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel.
