Mary Josephine Jo Butchee Davis, 69, of Blair, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus with Randy Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at the Warren Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Jo was born Jan. 30, 1943 to Charles Asa Butchee and Mary Anita Pair Butchee in Altus. Jo was raised on the family farm in Warren and graduated in 1961 from Warren High School. Jo married Charles Barry Davis June 4, 1961 at the First Baptist Church in Blair. They made their home in Blair and spent many wonderful years together there. They were just a few months short of celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary upon Barrys death.

Jo worked on the farm with her brothers while growing up but made her career in the public through the banking services, Southwestern Oklahoma State College, and the agriculture business industry. Jo was never one to just sit at home and upon her retirement she returned to serving others as a transit driver where she was well liked by all that traveled with her. Jo loved to travel to rodeos with Barry and spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Barry Davis; her parents, Charles Asa Butchee and Mary Anita Pair Butchee; one brother, Charles Dee Butchee; her father-in-law, Charles William Davis; and her mother-in-law, Opal Lee McElroy Davis.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Lee Martinez and husband Adolfo of Blair; Tara Jo Davis of Blair; three grandchildren, Morgan Danielle Martinez, Mitchell Chase Martinez, and Ayden Davis Lee Stewart, all of Blair; one brother, John Madison Butchee and wife Linda of Moore; one sister-in-law, Iverna Butchee Kennedy of Warren; one brother-in-law, Rick Davis and wife Jan of Blair; cousin (sister), Janice Spencer Emerson of Abeline, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Jo is also survived by special life-long friends Dr. Don Mitchell and wife Thedis of Weatherford.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Barry and Jo Davis Memorial Scholarship fund at Western Oklahoma State College.
